British Jujutsu Federation
The British Jujutsu Federation, affiliated to the United Kingdom Budo Federation is dedicated to the practice and preservation of authentic Jujutsu (also spelled Ju Jitsu).
The original British Ju Jitsu Federation was established in 1956 by Shihan Vernon Bell and was affiliated to the European Ju Jitsu Union. Hanshi Bell also headed the British Karate Federation as Karate had been introduced to the UK that same year.
In 2006 the United Kingdom Budo Federation held a masters course celebrating 50 years of British Karate and the British Ju Jitsu Federation and now the UKBF's Jujutsu division has given rise to a new British Jujutsu Federation.
In the initial stages of the new British Jujutsu Federation this website is designed to document Britain's rich heritage of Jujutsu and profile some of the pioneers of the art.
